Bannon, Carlson and... Liz Truss? Inside the Ex- PM's Foray for Make America Great Again

Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, kicked off the first edition of her online program with a vow to expose "malicious actors" working to undermine the UK, United States and European nations. Truss elaborated she would uncover how an "worldwide alliance of progressives function to undermine democracy and the will of the people."

"We will examine the Maga phenomenon and understand how this can be accomplished in Britain," she said. "We will interview the leading lights of the Trumpist political sphere."

Prior to the show's launch, there was a strong advocate. "This marks the start of a sort of transformation," stated John Solomon. His conservative Just the News will publish the ex-PM's new audio shows.

Forging Alliances in the Maga-Verse

UK-based allies, such as a counselor supportive of Reform, played a role in her launch the her new show. Its staging is competent, though simple. The show has attracted ten thousand followers in her initial seven days and her first episode achieved tens of thousands of views across the same period.

It is a modest start, but in partnering with John Solomon, Truss is being thrust into a established right-wing media network producing and amplifying Maga talking points. Key fixations include claims of media suppression by the established press and a desire to remove a shadowy government apparatus – which she attributes her downfall to for the swift end of her calamitous premiership.

"Just the News is not widely recognized beyond the Maga-verse, but it does have credibility there, primarily thanks to Solomon, who offers opinions on Maga platforms like the program hosted by Steve Bannon and has even spoken with Trump," commented Alex Hinton, who has extensively researched the Trumpist political wave.

A Controversial Partner

The former PM's foray to bring American conservative media to the UK has aligned her more closely to contentious individuals such as John Solomon.

He set up his media outlet after backlash when allegations surfaced of pushing misleading narratives about Biden's anti-corruption work in the Ukraine, as well as contentious articles about ex-ambassador to Ukraine.

His claims were echoed throughout the pro-Trump outlets, with he featuring as a common interviewee on the widely-watched Fox News show. Trump himself promoted his stories.

He wrote the allegations regarding Ukraine in a set of articles for the political newspaper the political newspaper, where he had already been moved to a columnist role after colleagues complained regarding his reporting. His claims were pivotal in Trump's pressure for the Ukrainian government to probe the Biden family in 2019. This pressure resulted in impeachment proceedings against Trump. The Senate later found not guilty the president.

Not long after the journalist departed the publication in autumn 2019, the outlet announced it was carrying out a examination of his columns concerning Ukraine. It determined the journalist had relied on unreliable sources and noted he "omitted important details about key Ukrainian sources, including the detail that they had been formally accused or were the subject of inquiries."

Entering the Ecosystem

The journalist's personal TV and radio guest spots are a example of the conservative ecosystem Truss is joining. He talked about his endorsement of Truss's project on a broadcast he helps run on Real America's Voice, a political media platform that is the base for the Maga influencer ex-Trump strategist Bannon and on which commentator Tucker Carlson also is seen. She has already hosted Bannon on one of her first podcasts.

In linking up with this media figure, she has become a small part in a broader ecosystem of conservative media outlets that frequently share and promote one another's material.

The journalist's programs have frequently included figures such as commentator Mike Benz, a rightwing influencer whose arguments against the foreign aid agency was referenced by the X owner as grounds for closing the international development organization.

A Global Media Play

Although her awkward delivery and political travails have been mocked within the UK, some US observers do not dismiss her attempts to rebrand as a British branch of the Make America Great Again press.

"It is necessary to treat folks like that seriously, although you may not want to interpret them word-for-word," commented Rob Flaherty, who worked in the Biden administration.

"Observers witnessed how in 2024 Donald Trump used that alternative press to spread his narrative. Certainly that ecosystem transmits and affects discourse abroad. It looks relatively clear to me that the environment in the Britain are similar to what permitted this alternative media ecosystem to flourish here."

Alan Finlayson, said the digital right-wing media sphere was already making its presence felt in Britain.

"Digital media is borderless," he said. "There's a kind milieu within which content circulates – at times taking an extreme form and sometimes less so – but which is connected."

The academic said the expansion of the digital conservative movement in the United Kingdom lately meant the "possibility to have a growing impact is significant."

A Transatlantic Ambition

"Both Truss and the Reform UK leader in the recent past spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where I observed they hit Make America Great Again rhetoric before the {king of Maga|
